The
ATOM SE drone available through Reliance is a tool for improving efficiency and
crop yield. Before planting, drone photos can be used to develop a planting
map. Once growing season begins, farmers can quickly and more comprehensively
survey their fields. The drone can be used to monitor crop development by
identifying places in the field where growth is lagging, find places where
plants are afflicted by pests and disease, locate plants suffering from
nutrient deficiency, and find weeds and confirm the effectiveness of spraying.
As growing season comes to an end, aerial footage can be used to check on crop
maturity and predict yield. Monitoring the same field year over year can be a
tool for projects between growing seasons, like water management, and comparing
images and video year over year will help identify problem areas.
